this and other season based activities are being held around the US in order to help our troops overcome the realities of war. it is almost mind boggling that the citizens of the country are being asked to contribute money to provide for military operations that are costing the US citizens billions upon billions of dollars of debt and loss in public services. the very fact that people would respond to this blows me away. the complete lack of outrage regarding the extensions of time in iraq for more than 10,000 troops putting them in harms way through the holidays simply because the admin wants to create the appearance of control in a place that is out of control.
sort of like the US congresspersons from NYC who want to promote an investigation into the oil for food program, but only if that investigation takes place through a US DoJ under US mandated prosecution because, well, quite frankly, the US was the most hideously guilty in the sanctions programs. no wonder these jokers can't let the investigation take place at the Hague. we would come out looking more heinous than would be acceptable to the pablum spoon fed to the US population by its media...
